This 1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 underwent a modification and refurbishment process that was completed in 2019 and involved the installation of a 6.2-liter GM LT4 supercharged V8, a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, and Detroit Speed suspension components in addition to TMI Products bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl, a roll bar, and Vintage Air climate control. Finished in green metallic, the car is also equipped with hood scoops, Boze 18″ alloy wheels, power rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel disc brakes, power windows, and a retro-style digital stereo. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2022, this Firebird is now offered with a clean Florida title.

The body was refinished in its current shade of green under prior ownership, and details include a Ram Air-style hood, dual side mirrors, a chrome rear bumper, bright rocker panel trim, and tinted windows.

Boze 18″ alloy wheels wear Pontiac-logo center caps and are mounted with 275/35 front and 335/30 rear BFGoodrich g-Force Rival tires. Stopping power is from Baer disc brakes, cross-drilled and slotted rotors, and a Detroit Speed booster. Power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering is fitted, and the car rides on Detroit Speed suspension components including a Quadra Link rear setup, front subframe with tubular control arms, anti-sway bars, and coil overs at all four corners.

The cabin was retrimmed during the refurbishment and features TMI Products high-back front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl with suede-style inserts. The dash pad and roll bar are trimmed in leather, and Lizard Skin ceramic insulation has been applied to the floors. Additional features include woodgrain dashboard trim, a Hurst T-handle shifter, Vintage Air climate control, power windows, front and rear audio speakers, and a retro-style digital stereo with satellite reception and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Formula-style steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 64k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the selling dealer.

The 6.2-liter GM LT4 V8 crate engine was installed as part of the build and equipped with a 1.7-liter Eaton R1740 TVS supercharger. Additional modifications include a Killer Chiller heat exchanger, an aluminum radiator, a Holley oil pan, ceramic-coated exhaust headers, and a 3″ stainless-steel exhaust system.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a 9″ rear axle assembly.
