Redesigned with modern, streamlined styling and choice engineering updates underneath, the 1940 Chevrolet lineup easily outsold its counterparts from archrival Ford. In addition to their sales success, a 1940 Chevrolet business coupe was driven to victory in Argentina's 6,000-mile Gran Primo Internacional Del Norte race by none other than future Grand Prix World Champion, Juan Manuel Fangio.



Featuring sleek, streamlined body styling, this 1940 Chevrolet Business Coupe is a midrange Series KH Master Deluxe model, equipped new with GM's famed independent "Knee Action" front suspension, unlike the Series KB Master Series, which utilized the old-fashioned solid front axle and leaf springs. The unmodified body is nicely finished in black paint and complemented by an updated, custom-upholstered interior, upgraded with modern A/C and heat for added comfort. Updated 12-volt electrics include the Delco alternator. Ample power is delivered by a 1951-vintage incline 6-cylinder engine sporting such desirable period upgrades as an Offenhauser intake manifold, dual carburetors and a Wayne rocker cover. A highly engaging accessory item is the very rare and valuable optional Chevrolet "Spinner" steering wheel.
