1965 DODGE DART GT
C-970
The early-mid 1960 saw MOPAR , Dodge, Chrysler and Plymouth product lines gain in popularity with the performance car culture. Performance became the focus especially to Plymouth and Dodge in an effort to become more competitive in the drag racing and NASCAR circles.
The Dart remained extremely popular through the end of the Dart's production run in 1976 in comparison to the Ford Falcon and the Chevrolet Nova.
New options for 1965 Dodge Dart included upgraded suspension components and larger 14 in wheels and tires, as well as disc brakes, which required the 14 in wheels to clear the calipers. Front seat belts became standard
Presented here is the popular 1965 Dodge Dart GT, with moderate performance upgrades and cosmetic restoration, retaining the original unique design lines.
Highlights of the build are:
· Modified 170ci/225HP Slant 6cyl engine
· Chrome air cleaner
· Chrome valve cover
· Hooker header
· Dual Exhaust
· Automatic push-button transmission
· Factory white exterior
· Factory white bucket seat interior
· Pushbutton AM radio
· Tinted windshield
· AutoMeter Super Comp column mounted tachometer
· Crager SS 5-spoke chrome wheels
· BF Goodrich tires
