1962 Chevrolet Corvette Frame Off Numbers Matching Convertible
Why This Car Is Special
The 1962 model year ended up being the last model of that era before the much talked about second-generation Corvette was to debut in 1963. In the last ten years, with brilliant engineers and designers like Edward Cole, Zora Arkus-Duntov and Bill Mitchell, the 1962 C1 Corvette had become an American Sports Car Classic.
The 1962 Chevrolet Corvette we have here at Skyway Classics is a frame off restored, Roman Red, with the 340 horse original numbers matching engine, is a perfect example of the Top-Of-The-Line Corvette for that year.

Mechanical
The big news for the 1962 Corvette was the introduction of the 327 cubic inch V-8 engine, one of the best engines ever made, in place of the smaller 283 cubic inch engine. The 327 produced more horsepower and torque that was far better than anything seen prior.
Our Corvette has the factory numbers matching, Special High Performance, 340 horsepower 327 cubic V8 engine that has been rebuilt about 7,200 miles ago.
It retains the correct look with its carb, factory cast iron exhaust manifolds, air cleaner, valve covers and sits in a restored and very detailed engine compartment with all the factory components looking like you just drove this Corvette off the showroom floor and backed by a four-speed manual factory 4-speed manual transmission.
Interior
The restored red leather bucket seat interior is also just like a time capsule with all the correct red leather bucket seats, red seat belts, red steering wheel, red carpeting, red dash with all working factory gauges and instrumentation, Wonder Bar radio, red grab handle, rear view mirror, clock and radio, all in great shape.
Exterior
As stated earlier, this 1962 Corvette was a body off restoration in 2006, and according to the current owner, and was restored in 2021 by an NCRS judge to be in the top 90% for Topflight NCRS quality consideration.
In 1962, the Corvette underwent more than just a mechanical overhaul as its styling was similar to previous years but the chrome outlines around the body side coves were dropped and the coves on ours are painted to match the rest of the Corvette.
The first thing you will notice on this Corvette is the beautiful Roman Red gloss paint that was completed by Swedes Total Auto and is super shiny with great body fitment over its sweet lines.
The white manual soft-top is on it and could be replaced if you want with the new soft top that comes with the car, but either way, nothing looks classier than a red/red Corvette with a white top.
Our 62 rides on painted steel wheels with the correct factory chrome hubcaps and radial white wall tires wrapped around them for the period correct look and stance.
Conclusion
The 1962 Corvette was the fastest and best handling Corvette made to date and to some it was the pinnacle of Corvettes in that era and beyond.
You must come see the Roman Red 1962 Chevrolet Corvette that was frame off restored and has the red interior, 4-speed, and the 340 horse original numbers matching engine.
